Glass Tiles Can Make A Room Appear More Spacious

Aug 26, 2015

If you live in an apartment, or are just trying to open up one of your home’s smaller rooms you should consider redecorating using glass subway tiles or glass mosaic tiles. Glass tiles will not actually make your room bigger, but they create a visual effect that makes a room appear more spacious. Couple glass tiles with some bright lights and you could feel a marked change in your homes more cramped quarters.

Glass tiles create an illusion of depth which, in turn, makes a room appear more spacious. Since they refract light they make a room brighter and that makes it feel more open. If your primary goal in using glass tiles is to achieve a special illusion you should stick with bright colors. Dark colors will not refract as much light so the effect won’t be as noticeable.

What are some other tricks that can help you feel more open? Getting rid of clutter is a good place to start. Not only does it make a room feel less cramped it quite literally frees up space. Adding mosaic paintings of wide spaces will also help alleviate some feeling of claustrophobia. Remember that a small room may be cramped but it’s also cozy!
