Adding Variety To Mosaic Tile Patterns On A Budget

Dec 18, 2015

Glass mosaic patterns are an affordable way to redecorate your kitchen backsplash tile. Kitchen glass tiles are not only affordable, they are very easy to customize. Glass goes with just about any kind of accent tile—metal, ceramic, stone, etc. And it adds variety when you mix two different kinds of tiles together in a mosaic tile pattern.

Glass mosaic tiles come in a variety of textures. The rougher pieces are good for a rustic or edgy style. They look great with stone and rougher clay-based tiles. The smoother, sometimes clear or translucent tiles look great with porcelain and metal tiles. They are sleek and give a very polished look to a modern kitchen.

Consider shattering different color pieces around or checkerboarding the design to give it a little pop of interest. If you find standardized designs too predictable then do something unique with pieces—create wall art with colors, add a border around the backsplash, or mix and match patterns that complement one another.

And what makes them a great way to “renovate” your kitchen without having to tear much apart or having to spend a lot of money. It’s isolated to a small part of the kitchen and you only need to buy a small supply of tiles to cover the area, however it makes quite an effect on the way it looks.
